church, college, challenges, changes...
Last Sunday, we resigned at our church. Levi has been the part time youth pastor there for 5 years this summer. We came to Dyersburg, TN (from Scottsbluff, NE) in August 2000, 3 months after we got married to be youth workers at Tucker street Church and to work part time at the Mission Youth Center. Levi worked at the Mission for 3 years before resigning to work part time for Young Life in Caruthersville, MO. So then we eventually moved across the mighty Mississippi to Caruthersville to be closer to our Young Life ministry, even though we were still working at TSC.
About 6 months ago, Levi and I decided it was time to start thinking about getting him though college a little more quickly that he had been doing it. He was taking a couple classes a semester at the community college in Dyersburg, and at that rate, it would take about 5 years to finish a batchelors, and we'd still have to go to another college anyway, after he'd taken all the CC classes that he could. So we decided that Levi would commut to Southeast Missouri (SEMO) to be a full time college student this fall. He's still going to work part time for Young Life here in Missouri and we're still planning on attending TSC for now.
So in about 2 years, Levi should have his batchelors of Philosiphy and we'll be ready to move so he can attend Seminary for his masters in Divinity. We haven't settled on a Seminary yet. We were pleasanty surprised when a deacon in our church offered to pay $5000 a year for Levi's education for the next 4 years or so on the stipulation that he attended a Seminary that he could roughly agree with. Yea! So that will help out a bunch. We'll be loosing most of our income, so it will be interesting to see how God provides for us in the next few years!
Michigan Adventures
Levi's dad Bruce came down here to work at Mission Camp and then took the kids back with him to Michigan to have "Camp Nana's" at Levi's mom's house. They were there for the first part of the week with Levi's sister Heather, mom, Kim, and her husband, Gale and Heather's kids, Zackery and Kaeleigh. Later on, Levi's brother Brandon brought his kids, Davis and Corin. I'll have those pictures up later on. They had lots of fun!
