Corn is no place for a mighty warrior

I was in Dyersburg (or Dyersburger as Alexis is fond of calling it) getting some groceries yesterday. Micah and Levi were on a field trip for Micah's school, so it was just Alexis and I. We were stopped by the pudding section, and Alexis spied some marshmallows. Immediately she started chanting, I want some mushrooms!!! I told her they were marshmallows, not mushrooms, and so she compromised and called them marshrooms. MMM... marshrooms!

Earlier this afternoon, I was rocking out on the porch while the kids played in the front yard. Alexis came up and said, "I used to have another grandfather, but he died because he ate too much macaronni and cheese. She was very serious and almost sad. They had macaronni and cheese for lunch, I'm assuming that's when her other "grandfather" passed away.

Ben came over for lunch today, he was in our youth group and is now in college. He helped us carve the "Jank-er-lanter" as Micah calls it.  Posted by Picasa

Here's my try at a double chocolate cake. I had some white roses in the freezer from some icing I had left over from class on Tuesday. I have to admit, this cake tasted really really good! Posted by Picasa

It's a double layer cake with vanilla custard in the middle:) Posted by Picasa

today's cake

Cake I made today at home

I start a new cake decorating course tomorrow, and we don't have to bring a cake, just frosting, but I decided to make a cake today just so I could take my time and not have to go on to something else like in class. This is what I ended up with! It's a double layer white cake with strawberry filling. It was yummy, and Alexis loved eating all the extra flowers:) Posted by Picasa

Story time with Randal.  Posted by Picasa

Alexis watches (with red eyes) as "uncle" randal reads her a story. Posted by Picasa

Alexis went out in the back yard for a picnic and evidently ate herself into slumber. Note the dorito cheese covered hands:) Posted by Picasa

Here's one of my cakes for my cake decorating class. It's kind of weird colors since I had to use the frosting colors that were available, and I didn't get to finish it at class, but here it is! Posted by Picasa
